Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) together with Pueblos Remotos and the Enterprise Europe Network in the Canary Islands organized in Agaete a meeting to bring together women entrepreneurs from the initiative The Break from different parts of the world, from the Canary Islands to Europe. More than 40 people attended the event with the aim of getting to know each other, discovering their initiatives and giving a boost to their projects through this platform designed to promote the connection of women entrepreneurs at a local and international level.
From Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs the project was presented with the purpose of serving as a shuttle for those new entrepreneurs who want to consolidate their initiatives through experiences abroad that allow them to exchange ideas, knowledge and skills. Simultaneously, this makes it possible to identify established entrepreneurs with an interest in receiving these novice entrepreneurs and to sediment their projects through the knowledge and mentorship of their ‘hosts’. To do so, there was an intervention by Lucía Dobarro, head of section at the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands, which serves as a regional node for EYE, who explained the operation of the program and its benefits when giving life to an entrepreneurship project.
To illustrate the advantages of EYE, Natalia Gralewska from Poland joined the event. Through his own venture, Soul & Spa yoga, he decided to make a stay with Laura Priolo, a settled entrepreneur Gran Canaria specialized in digital marketing with which to collect experiences and knowledge of this area to transfer them later to their own entrepreneurship. Currently both continue to learn from each other's skills through the opportunities provided from Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs.
But, once the stay with Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs ends, the adventure does not end. The conference was co-organized by the Enterprise Europe Network through its node in the Canary Islands. This international network composed of more than 450 organizations and present in 39 countries opens the doors to internationalization and international cooperation between companies. Its advisory services and support for cooperation, as well as female entrepreneurship, among others, were presented from the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands, which operates as one of the partners in its consortium of the Canary Islands, which covers the entire Archipelago.
The event featured a panel of inspiring examples of women entrepreneurs from the Canary Islands and other countries. In particular, Stephanie Ulmer, from Amar & Mountain, Cristina Pérez, of CreatiWorking, Kristina Cernousovaite, as a consultant in European Union strategy and funding, and Kim de Coster's moderation, of Slow & Co. The event then gave the floor to six international female entrepreneurs from the ‘The Break’ project to share their ‘pitches’.
To conclude, the activity provided a 'networking' space with which to connect the people who attended the place, in the Coworking El Cabo, in Agaete, with the participation of Vegamundo. In a more relaxed environment and with the settlement of all the ideas and shared knowledge, the occasion allowed to exchange sensations and proposals to continue marking the way towards a more diverse, inclusive and plural entrepreneurship.
