A great opportunity to improve the world, the case of Carlos

“I am not interested in the usual professions”. Carlos Cedrés wanted to change the world and found in Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs a way to take the first steps towards his goal. This young Canarian passionate about technology took multiple turns in his life path in search of “solutions for society”. Thus he began to study Business Administration and entered fully into the ecosystem of startups and digital businesses, which he simply fell in love with.

Shortly after in the company of some friends he built the foundations of a new application with which to create and unify digital solutions that would support the work of tour guides, agencies and any other agent involved in these processes. Thus, step by step and little by little, Carlos was weaving the bases of 2Go Tours, the start of what he dreamed of: “to provide useful solutions and improve the quality of life of people around the world”. 

However, every successful narrative demands more than genuine interest. Carlos was looking for a practical scenario in which to learn, observe and draw on the experience that other companies in the sector could offer him. EYE Canarias was the link between Carlos and his objective, a wish that assures that it was very useful: “It allowed me to learn from companies with backgrounds, as well as integrate in other places and cultures to expand my and the project’s networks”.

An exciting adventure

That's how Carlos ended up in Austria accompanied by Rudolf Ball, CEO of Symvaro, a technology development company with a strong commitment to digital solutions aimed at the development of smart cities. With more than 15 years of experience, Rudolf projected a positive leadership, energetic and focused on the people who conquered Carlos, who was clear that this was his opportunity.

Despite the initial challenges of traveling so far, Carlos did not stop and began with all possible effort his 4-month stay in Austria, assuming the role of growth manager, a position that focuses its activity on identifying and exploiting opportunities for expansion and growth for the company's products and services. However, Carlos had the opportunity to go through more areas and meet more professionals who would help him redefine and materialize his initial proposal for 2Go Tours.

"Despite the challenges, I found this adventure very exciting", adds Carlos when he thinks about his stay and the support that Rudolf gave him in the review of his business proposal. Also, there are things that transcend projects and initiatives and is that the most elementary can make all the difference, such as a simpler and more effective communication, something that Symvaro taught Carlos during his stay.

Intense, beautiful and recommended, this is how Carlos described his experience when he concluded. Once faced with the challenges and shared knowledge, Rudolf also stressed that EYE served to open their minds and continue improving the operation of Symvaro with fresh and novel ideas. Meanwhile, Carlos continues to work and visualize his future around startups from all corners of the planet to materialize as soon as possible a positive impact, an indelible footprint on people and societies to make our planet a better place.
