Accompaniment and flexibility, two keys to Inês' experience in Singapore

In the initial phase of his business project, Inês Soares missed the accompaniment and experience of that person who, with years of experience, can advise you on these hesitant first steps. From Portugal, Inês identified in our destinations Beyond the piece that was missing in the puzzle and established its relationship with the prestigious international engineering and construction consultancy, Ramboll.

With the same agility that Inês selected the company that would welcome him, he also chose his destination: Singapore. This small Southeast Asian country is one of the powers in the innovation sector applied to the AECA industry (architecture, engineering, construction and operations) and from where Ramboll works with one of its most dynamic branches globally.

For an architect like Inês, all the pieces fit and lined up in her purpose of sedimenting her venture, BIMdesk, a proposal offering specialised consultancy and development services for the engineering, construction and architecture sectors. To top it off, Inês had the renowned engineer Hossein Rezai-Jorabi and global design director of Ramboll as its ‘host’.

When Inês recalls her stay, she was clear that for her there are two issues that make a difference and allow her to take real advantage of the experience: flexibility and accompaniment. From minute zero he had the support and continuous advice of Hossein, who not only allowed him to develop in the team, but to know first-hand the keys to a successful business model. Flexibility was also a decisive element to the extent that the stay was gradually responding to the doubts and learning opportunities that arose, thus overcoming obstacles or changes compared to the original work plan.

Towards the end of his experience, Inês had added experience and put together enough pieces with which to continue putting together his project, at the same time that for Hossein and Ramboll his stay was tremendously significant while he was able to leave his personal imprint on the team and himself thanks to his “critical thinking and openness”, as he commented.

This exchange has been facilitated by Madan Parque (Portugal) and the Camera di Commercio Belgo-Italiana (Belgium).
